"I'm just fine, thanks."
He returns to his desk and sits down, he offers Adrienne a spare seat.
"Are you sure? It's no trouble."

Adrienne wondered how long it usually took a bright kid like Jamie to figure out what was really going on. After all, he wasn't as oblivious as most mortals. She considered this, knowing she would probably have to kill him if he did reach any dangerous conclusions.
That might complicate things.

"Really, I'm fine," she insisted, taking the spare seat. "So, what did you find?"

"Oh, alright."
He turns his attention back to the screen and fiddles around a little.
"Well I talked to the girl behind the counter and she didn't really seem to know much. She probably thought I was a bit of a weirdo when I started asking whether they had anything more interesting than the stuff in front. What else was there..."
The screen changes a few more times, then he finds what he's looking for and a close-up view of the back wall is shown.
"Well I got a closer shot of it, but I don't know what it says."
Jamie points to the markings there, now enlarged to be made out clearly. They are in a mixture of languages, but Adrienne is fluent in all of them and can read the mixture of Latin, Greek and symbols worryingly similar to runes used in Thaumaturgy.

Adrienne frowned. There was definitely something about that place. Maybe it was time she checked it out herself.
"Could you print that out for me?" she asked. "And do you think we could find out who owns the place?"

If only those shops didn't close as soon as night fell. That always complicated things.

"Sure, no problem. I don't have a printer but I know someone who does."
He taps away at the keyboard industriously, seeming to have a conversation with someone in the process, then turns back to her.
"I'll just go get it in a minute. I asked her who owns the place and she said her boss is a guy called Brian Ellison, but she didn't know if he's the owner. I tried getting some information on him but couldn't find anything online."

Adrienne moved a little closer to the screen. She kept her eyes locked on the words on the screen for a while. They were very obviously telling her something.

She snapped out of her thoughts suddenly and turned to Jamie.
"What about her," she asked, pointing to the woman behind the counter. "Do you know her name, or how long she's been working at the place?"

"Her? I think she just works there. I don't think she knows anything about the place."
Jamie had, incidentally, been keeping his eyes on other things while Adrienne's attention had been elsewhere. He continues talking in what was largely a miserably poor attempt at distracting Adrienne from this fact.
"I didn't ask how long she'd been there for, but her name is Lisa."

Convinced that she'd learnt everything she could from Jamie, Adrienne nodded slowly.
"Thanks," she said. "I might have another job for you if you're interested. Of course, I should probably pay you for this one first."

She did, and then waited for a reaction. It wouldn't hurt to have a set of eyes check out the catacombs during the day.

"Do you remember I asked you about the catacombs before?" she asked. "I need someone to take around, maybe take some pictures. There's a tomb in there that I'm interested in."

Adrienne was sure he was going to get somewhat suspicious. But hopefully the promise of money would keep him going anyway.

"Well... uh... I'm not sure I can really get in there. Not legally. The tours don't operate at this time of year and there's no other way of getting down there."
He gives her a rather hopeless look, not seeing any way around the problem.
"Maybe I could contact the council and arrange it as a special event, but they'll probably charge for it if they allow it at all. But I doubt it."

Adrienne stopped to consider. Not even money could push people to do something illegal if they were afraid, well at least not in the amounts she was offering.

"Alright," she said. "I'll try and arrange something then. Well, that's business out of the way. Do you have time to go for a drink?"

(OOC: Might as well wrap this up.)

"Sure! I'll just get my coat."
They head out to waste time for a few hours, filling the air with meaningless conversation and leading Jamie on ever further. Then finally Adrienne goes away and leaves Jamie all alone again.
