The Bowling Green - Freehouse « Thread Started on Nov 26, 2005, 9:31pm »
The Bowling Green is a locals pub. Students don't tend to go there often, not because they're not welcome, but because it offers them nothing in particular. There are quiz nights sometimes, and once a week, Live Music. More importantly, it has a small function room which can be hired.
Piotr's car pulls up outside, and he exits, having advised Christof to park up nearby and come get a drink at the bar. He checks his watch, and, seeing the time to be 7:10 he sighs in relief and walks on in and up to the bar. Catching the Bartender's attention:
"Hey, a friend of mine, Cassie aranged the function room for me tonight, she said I should pay on the night. How much is it?"
I was walking down Exeter high street today and there was this crowd waiting outside Boots, it must have been a fire drill or something, and I couldn't help myself, I just had to shout out: "It's a Bomb!"

She takes a moment pouring the pint and placing it on the bar in front of him, then indicates with one hand to the stairs at the other side of the room. "Up those stairs, you'll find it easy enough."

"Many thanks."
Piotr takes his pint and heads off in the direction indicated. Upon arriving in the room, he walks a circuit around the perimeter, takes note of the layout of furniture, locates the exits, then sits down to await the arrival of his 'guests'. Waiting is something Piotr does quite well.

Approximately twenty minutes later three fairly gruff looking guys in casual clothes come in to the room, holding a pint each. Seeing Piotr, the lead one stops a bit inside the room and glances around before fixing his gaze on Piotr's face. "You Cassie's friend?"

"That's right, so you want to tell me a little about yourself?" He takes a seat opposite Piotr, sipping from his pint as he does. One of the other two glances across at the other and gives him a nod before sitting down himself, the third one stands by the door. They seem a little skittish, but confident. Piotr notices that the one by the door has a slight bulge under his jacket, possibly a weapon of some sort.

"Sure. Remember a while back when Cassie's gang was having all the trouble with rivals on their turf? It was mayhem, the Police didn't know where to look, people were getting dead with alarming frequency, the whole area went to shit. Then it stopped. Over the course of a weekend half of her opposition were either dead or arrested, suddenly the police knew where to look, Cassie and her friends had the resources and firepower to wipe out the remainder. The ones who got arrested went straight to prison, where they stay to this day. I did that. Interested?"

The two at the table glance across at each other for a moment, then the second one speaks. "You two are close huh... alright we can talk, we got took over almost a year ago now, some one-eyed cunt called Ed and his dogs. No one's said what happened when he came in and ripped up Phil, those that were there either aint talkin' or can't talk."

"Ah hell, we can handle that, but we're getting into shit he aint telling us about. 'eard some mutterings about going up against this hard fuck called Dick Malice, that guy is connected and we don't need to be fuckin' about, we got St. Thomas. We were just settled before he came along, don't need the hassle."

"In short, you need Ed out of the way so you can go back to ruling the roost in St Thomas'. I want to help you guys out. Tell me how you want this to end. Is it that you want Ed dead and one of you three running the show? Because it's hard, but it can be done. What do you want?"

"Well now, that's the funny thing, Ed just up and dissapeared a few days back. Took the closest of us with him and took off, we haven't heard from 'em since. Same night that big fight kicked off, gang warfare the pigs called it..." The two at the table look at each other again, then up at the door guy. "Whether he's got himself fucked up or is hidin' out, now's the time. Dunno about who should take control back though, if we can get a little outside help it shouldn't be too hard to take over since he took his most loyal with him. Then we get everything running smoothly and give him a kicking if he shows up again."

"Well, that sounds interesting. I can help out with a few things. I can give you the money to buy in hardware and help. I can arrange a few tip-offs to the cops to get key players out of the way. With Ed's nearest and dearest out of the way it shouldn't be a problem. I may be able to pull in some specialist outside help you pull it off. I'll do this as a favour to new friends.
Here's the problem. Ed and his boys come back. They kill you all. Tell me, what stops them, and while you're at it, tell me what you noticed changing about Ed's 'honour guard'?"

The first one nods along as Piotr speaks, but it's the second that replies. "Well, we take over proper, we'll deal with him when he gets back as we'll have all the boys with us and we'll be ready for him. He seems pretty hard and I 'eard he had someone trainin' up his close mates to fight better. But Those guys might not be totally with 'im anyway, right? Since they come back and see there's been a change of leadership they might jump ship back. So I reckon we can handle it."

"No, you'll have to kill them. Can you do that? Can you kill all of your friends who went off with Ed? I assure you they'll kill you in a heartbeat. I've seen this before."

Piotr earns a number of nervous looks from the group, both at him and each other. The first one speaks up. "Hey I've known Dave for eight years, we go back, I don't reckon he's gonna draw on me fer chrissakes." There are a couple of nods of agreement from the other two. "What the hell gives you the idea they're gonna go back on their old mates for some fucker who just forced his way in a year ago?"

Holding out his hands in a conciliatory gesture:
"That's your decision to make, not to believe what they're now capable of, as I said, I've seen this before, you haven't. I'll help out, you'll have all I promised, but be prepared to defend yourselves when your old friends return. When you find they're ready to kill you for Ed, come back and ask me why. After this, you owe me friendship, just as Cassie does, that's all."
I'll need someone trigger-happy to kick things off when it all goes down, perhaps one of Marcus' pet Brujah...
Piotr dips a hand into an inside pocket of his jacket and retrieves his wallet, from which he produces a Card with a mobile phone number on it. Sliding it across the table:
"Go away and think about it, whether you want my help or not. Then give that number a call early evening tomorrow. You'll speak to a guy called Chris. Arrange to meet and we'll get together a plan of action, when it's going to happen, and what happens to whom."

The one on the left reaches out a hand slowly, placing it atop the card. He gives a quick glance up at Piotr before sliding it across the table and palming it into a pocket. "Alright, we'll think on it, guys?" He looks across at the other two, the first nods slightly and the guy by the door glances across momentarily to give a half-hearted grunt of agreement. "Thanks for the drink." They take the cue and drink most of what remains of them, then stand to leave.
