 The Cavern
« Thread Started on Aug 6, 2005, 11:02pm »

A semi-alternative club that tends to have a large number of teenygoths and townies inhabiting it. Despite this it still produces a fairly dark atmosphere. The club is vaguely split into a dancefloor and stage (used for DJing or bands) on one side, the bar with some tables and chairs scattered around on the other.

Bob wanders down the stairs into the cavern, handing over the door fee for both of them, which he produces seemingly at a guess from his pocket.
When they reach the bottom, the noise from the loud and uh... enthusiastic band on stage fills their ears. Bob looks around in annoyance, the place is packed.

Riley, who always disliked loud noises, was obviously uncomfortable in such a loud place. All the people were starting to make her feel nervous, and she wondered what she was doing here after all.
She starts looking at people and colour coding them, checking out their moods as she follows after Bob, wherever he was going.

Looking around at the club, Riley finds she is having a bit of trouble concentrating on one particular person with the noise distracting her. After struggling for a minute though she manages to pick out some basic shades, mostly of purples and violets, with the occasional splotch of deep red. A few, however, have auras more dominated by silver and black.

Bob looks around, but is paying more attention to Riley, after letting her watch for a few seconds he leans in and shouts in her ear.
"Probably a lot of purple and red, people in clubs are usually pretty excitable and often a bit horny."

She nods, but looks slightly confused.
"What's silver and black mean?" she asks, still trying to get a view of all the colours in the place.

"Oh yeah, forgot about that. Alternative club, full of depressed vampire wannabes with a thing for black and overdone makeup."
He shrugs slightly.
"Kids, mostly."

"You mean black and silver is depressed?" she looks at him, reading his aura again, "What's my colour?"

"Not quite, silver is indicative of sadness, black is hatred. A lot of these angsty kids hate something, normally their parents."
This earns him a nasty look from someone nearby, but he doesn't pay it any heed, looking instead directly at Riley.
"Orange, dark blue, spot or two of grey."

"Dark Blue? What does that indicate? And grey?"
She didn't like the idea that Bob could tell how she was feeling all the time, especially since feelings had a nasty habits of getting ahead of themselves and spiralling out of control.
"Do you look at colours all the time when you're looking at people?"

Bob shakes his head and looks around the crowd.
"No, it distracts me from the rest of the world, I only do it when I need to. Or I'm asked. There are a lot of colours associations in the kine, red is anger, blue is thoughtful, green is envious, it works much the same way. I suspect we only percieve the emotions and make the colours appear as they do. As for you, dark blue is a more interest and curiosity."

Riley starts to get confused.
"I thought you said green was committed." she says carefully, "Can you see any supernaturals in here?"
She looks around to to spot a pale aura.

Bob hesitates a little.
"A better word to use would be obsessed, the dark and light shades take a particular form. Like envy, or distrust."
He pauses and looks around th club for a few seconds before continuing.
"None immediately obvious to the eye, it's easier to work on your mundane perceptions because it distracts you less, checking every person in a crowd is tiresome and time-consuming."

"No reason other than to look. Yes, every shade can have a different meaning, generally you will find a range of colours joined together, each one is distinct and has it's own meaning."
Bob shrugs and turns back towards the stairs.
"So no reason no, if you want to go."

Riley nods, she didn't like crowds and loud noises. She was already easily distracted.
"Yes let's go somewere quiet, where I can concentrate on individual people."

"Ok, got any ideas? Most people are in clubs or in their beds asleep at this time of night."
He heads up the stairs back to the backstreets.

((continued at the central Exeter backstreets))

Makare just grins, parking quickly and striding in after her. "Wanna see something cool?" She grins...and goes inside.

"Yeah... sure." Shannon walks in and starts to look around for the biggest troublemaker in the club.
